Many creators spend hours crafting high-bitrate 4K edits in After Effects or Premiere Pro, only to upload them to TikTok or Instagram and find their crisp video pixelated and blurry. Social media platforms re-encode every uploaded video to save bandwidth, applying aggressive H.264 compression profiles that crush detail, especially in fast-moving motion graphics or dark color tones.
To bypass aggressive platform re-encoding, your goal is not to upload the highest file size possible, but rather to feed the platform’s ingestion servers an exact encoding profile that requires minimal server-side transcoding.
2. Optimal Render Settings Matrix
- Resolution: 1080 x 1920 pixels (Avoid uploading 4K to TikTok as server downscaling introduces heavy artifacts).
- Frame Rate: Match sequence framerate (60 fps for smooth gameplay/edit transitions, 30 fps for cinematic edits).
